REVOLUTION
Before the computer revolution came the British Invasion.  It was at this very time that the mutant rockStar gene awoke in Paul.
Playing guitar since seventh grade, he has absorbed a life time of music.  It was the computer revolution that has enabled Paul
to visually unlease the fruits of his musical tenure in a new medium.  By shifting digital ones and zeros across the screen beyond
recognition, he has developed a technique for transforming the ordinary into extraoridinary.
His style coined in German as "Bewusst
Verzerrt", translated, consciously distorted, Paul constructs new works through sweet manipulation of digital imagery, leaving a
similar but edgy result.
Before discovering his musical bent Paul solicitied the talents of the late Adirondack artist Ray Jackman
to tutor him beyond the basic ability to draw and develop a sense of colour.  "I've been creating art ever since Crayola expanded
their selection to 64 colors.", states Thatcher.
Inspired by Peter Max’s unfettered use of color and bold lines, Warhol’s selection
of hackneyed subject matter, and the philosophy that "what is worth doing, is worth overdoing", Paul tests the boundaries of our
imaginations with a recipe of vibrant colors and disobedient lines laden with imposing texture.  His manipulations encourage
viewers to decipher and ultimately to complete his compositions. Through his unique approach, he provides us with an
exceptional perspective on one of his favorite subjects.

Inspiration is like the common cold, you don’t usually see it coming and then bam, it hits you.   The universe that I have to draw
upon has evolved over the last thirty years.  As an avid guitarist, I've performed with many rock bands, experienced the British
music invasion, spent countless hours gawking at expensive gear in music stores, hung in bars famous for their musical heritage,
and taken on Mr. Cuervo head on at Maui's Hard Rock Café and won.
Creating the visual equivalent of a catchy tune intrigues
me.
My unique perspectives garner clever lyrics.  Disobedient lines govern tempting melodies while colour and texture
collaborate to set the hook, allowing density and contrast to reign over the intoxicating motion of the piece.  Enjoy.
